TankTrouble Online Competition

Official Gamemodes

TTOC is all about variety. That's why we have four gamemodes for players to compete in, to test players' skills. Each gamemode targets a different group of skills, while the Classic gamemode is an overall test. The gamemodes are played one after the other in TTOC, and each have their own separate sign up period.

Classic

The all-round favourite, classic gamemode. Putting overall skill to the test, this gamemode is the easiest to follow: survive by any means necessary in the TankTrouble Mazes!

  • Game Settings: Last Tank Standing, 4 players.
  • A normal battle with all the weapons and bullets.
  • A round begins when Referee tanks are destroyed.
  • Victor: First to 15 wins with a two win difference.

Common Infractions: players starting the round too early

All bullets and weapons allowed

Tanks starting the round after Referees are destroyed

Weapons

Bullets are underkill. Destroy your opponent with the weapon of your choice. After all, that crate did spawn just for you! Go on... you know you want that weapon...

  • Game Settings: Last Tank Standing, 4 players.
  • A battle without bullets, only weapons from crates.
  • Both players start with only one weapon loaded. Players may only choose from the first 2 weapon crates that spawned. Shields allowed only after the match begins.
  • Players will start in one of the outer corners of the maze, which they must "claim" by announcing it in chat, while being in the corner with a weapon.
  • Players may pick up and use all weapons infinitely after the round starts.
  • Referee tanks may only pick up crates to help clear paths or allow new weapon crates to spawn.
  • A round begins after:
    • Players are equipped with a weapon and
    • Player tanks are touching the outer maze wall with their turret in their claimed corner tile and
    • Referee tanks are destroyed
  • Victor: First to 10 wins with a 2 win difference.

Common Infractions: picking up the wrong crate, firing a regular bullet (immediate point to opponent), wasting time

All weapons allowed, no regular bullets

Starve your opponent from reaching the crates!

Golf

Five bullets are overkill. Slow down! Aim from where you are. The target: your opponent, of course. If you miss... well then, now you're the target. You can dodge by pivoting, but good luck with that!

  • Game Settings: Last Tank Standing, 4 players, Symmetrical.
  • Players shoot at each other at the same time, by only using turning controls.
  • Aiming, dodging and shooting is only allowed by pivoting on the spot. You may only move forward and back when travelling to your new shooting position.
  • Each shooting period will be started 15 seconds after players have settled into their shooting position, with the Referee counting down to zero. The last 3 seconds of the countdown will be in chat.
  • If both bullets despawn, each player will move to the location of their despawned bullet;
if the bullets despawn within three tiles of the other, the round is a draw.
  • If a player moves forward or back when not allowed, the opponent receives a point, and the round will not count.
  • A round begins when the Referee tanks are destroyed.
  • Victor: First to 10 wins with a 2 win difference.

Common Infractions: moving when not allowed, firing multiple bullets, unsafe disposal of weapons (immediate point to opponent)

Only one bullet allowed at a time

Use the symmetrical maze to your advantage

Gold Rush

It's the 1840s. You're caught amidst the Siberian Gold Rush! You must fight for all the gold, or receive a face full of lead. Rush for the gold or lose, which one will you choose?

  • Game Settings: Deathmatch, 4 players.
  • Players must battle for the highest score by earning as many points as possible.
  • Dimitrium is worth 10 points, Gold Coins are worth 5 points, all Kills are 1 point, but Suicides are -1 point.
  • Prevent your opponent from earning points with all bullets and weapons.
  • The Referee will track and announce the round numbers at the beginning of each round.
  • Referee tanks must NOT interrupt gameplay by shooting bullets and/or otherwise.
  • A round begins immediately after the game countdown. Referee tanks must turn in place wherever they spawn. Be aware of inactivity- Referees must turn both ways periodically to not be kicked.
  • Victor: Player with higher score after 10 rounds, calculated by the Crew.

Common Infractions: no data

All bullets and weapons allowed

No luck with gold? Referee tanks are easy picking!
